2004/10/12 Finally belong to somewhere in Chicago

Today supposes to be my first day in Bank of America. Although I haven't checked in yet, I felt somewhat different after realizing the responsibility and choice I've made. Getting up at 6am in the early October morning at Evanston, I quickly took a shower and wore my business suit. I looked into the mirror for a second, grabbed my only elegant-style leather handbag, and wore my only high-heeled shoes. Ready to catch the CTA.

Wearing business suit is something that always makes me feel like a grown-up. Though I am already twenty-five, after going back to school for a year, I got a bit confused sometimes in terms of how to behave and what to expect. However, after an hour of commute, I got off at Quincy station, same name as my favoriate place in Boston. Luckily, as shown in yahoo maps, Bank of America building is right across the street. Besides, the building is so elegant and retro that I took a deep breath before stepping in. My favoriate store, Ann Taylor, is also in the building.

It is my first time to feel being a part of Chicago. The big city suddenly become approachable and inviting. I am now not a tourist but a real chicago resident going to work by CTA everyday. The weather is a bit chilly but I felt so calm and peaceful.

I know that my life is moving on and heading towards a nice direction. I will keep learning and exploring the uncertainty and the difficulties ahead of me with enthusiasm, prudence, and courage.
